The mystery explored…
WHY ARE THE PEOPLE OF EARTH
ACTING THE WAY THEY ARE?

I have been serializing here an updated version of a small booklet that I wrote a while ago addressing questions being asked by people all over the world. What is happening here? Why has the world gone insane?

I have added to my booklet a word-for-word copy of the statement I issued the day after the 9-11 attacks on the United States. I believe that many of the observations I made then remain meaningful and applicable today.

Now let me ask you a great question: Is it possible that what we are seeing on the Earth now is the rising up of elements within a Contextual Field that is presaging the coming of the Greatest Age of Man — an age when humans finally understand, embrace, adopt, and demonstrate their True Nature, their Real Identity, and their Actual Purpose?

Could it be that all that we have seen on our planet in the past 50 years is the out-picturing of a larger evolutionary patterning that evidences itself everywhere that Life Itself manifests?

If so, this would give us, at least, an understanding of why such things as we see and hear about on our computer screens every day are occurring. It would explain why so many citizens of one of the planet’s most powerful nations are seriously considering electing a leader who mirrors the lowest common denominators of human beings — fear and the anger that arises from it — rather than a leader who inspires the highest and the best within us.

Understanding all of this is not unimportant. It is the first step toward changing it. You cannot create anew if you don’t understand the old. You can only react. Right now, we are reacting to events on Earth. What we need to do is create them anew. And this can only happen by creating ourselves anew.

What we are talking about here is transformation — and transformation begins at the outer edge of understanding. It is not the other way around. One does not Understand when one is Transformed. One is Transformed when one Understands.

Do you Understand?

This is where the Mind comes in on our evolutionary journey. It is in the Mind of humans where evolution occurs. The Soul is already evolved. It is the part of us that is the source of evolution, not the part of us that yearns to be evolved. What the Soul desires is the experience of what It already knows. It is the Mind that yearns to be evolved, and thus provide the Body with the information that will allow the Soul to experience its highest desire: the expression of Divinity in physical form. It is in this way that the Body, Mind and Soul work together to serve the ultimate purpose of Life Itself.

I could be wrong about all of this. But it feels to me that the Conversations with God material, from which this all emerges, is at least worth more deeply exploring. It is for this reason that I feel now, more than ever, that the booklet this material articulates, and that I was inspired by my Soul to produce, would be very helpful to read, and to share with others. Powerfully helpful.

It is my desire that as many people as possible have an opportunity to absorb this material, so I will continue to excerpt it in this space until the entire document has been published here.

A WORLD IN TURMOIL: How we can respond – Chapter Five
The process that generates Functionality, Adaptability, and Sustainablity is governed by laws of the universe, many of which are easily observable and therefore universally known—such as the Law of Gravity, for instance, or the Laws of Relativity.

One of the laws that is perhaps not so universally known is the Law of Opposites, Tool #3 as offered in this booklet.

Spoken of at length in the Conversations with God dialogues, I often call it The Law Unknown, because even now, most people are not aware of it, unless they have read the CWG dialogues.

There, in Book 1, God says…

“As I’ve already explained, knowing something, and experiencing it, are two different things. Spirit longed to know Itself experientially (just as I did!). Conceptual awareness was not enough for you. So I devised a plan. It is the most extraordinary idea in all the universe—and the most spectacular collaboration. I say collaboration because all of you are in it with Me.

“Under the plan, you as pure spirit would enter the physical universe just created. This is because physicality is the only way to know experientially what you know conceptually. It is, in fact, the reason I created the physical cosmos to begin with—and the system of relativity, which governs it and all creation.

“Once in the physical universe, you, My spirit children, could experience what you know of yourself—but first, you had to come to know the opposite. To explain this simplistically, you cannot know yourself as tall unless and until you become aware of short. You cannot experience the part of yourself that you call fat unless you also come to know thin.

“Taken to ultimate logic, you cannot experience yourself as what you are until you’ve encountered what you are not.

“This is the secret behind the Theory of Relativity, and of all physical life. It is by that which you are not that you yourself are defined.”

In the book Happier Than God this effect was further explained. I want to offer a passage right now from that later text because it is a perfectly wonderful resource for personal growth and spiritual development, and I strongly commend it to your reading. You’ll see why after you finish this direct lift from Happier Than God…

The Law of Opposites is part of a larger system of cause-and-effect in the Universe. This system includes…

  1. The Energy of Attraction, which gives you power.
  2. The Law of Opposites, which gives you opportunity.
  3. The Gift of Wisdom, which gives you discernment.
  4. The Joy of Wonder, which gives you imagination.
  5. The Presence of Cycles, which gives you eternity.

How it all fits together
The Law of Opposites is the second of the five Great Principles of Life, which intersect and interact with the Basic Principles of Life. You might also call these the Foundational Principles and the Upper Principles.

The first set of principles applies to all forms of life everywhere, throughout the Universe, in all its manifestations, from so-called inanimate objects to those expressions of life that we call “sentient beings.”

The second set of principles applies to sentient beings only. That is, to life forms of elevated awareness, or what we might call self-consciousness.

Not all life forms, of course, are self-conscious. Not every manifestation of life is aware of itself. If a dog sees itself in a mirror, it does not know it is looking at itself, and so it may bark furiously. A kitten may paw at the glass.

A lion in the jungle does not self-analyze or self-reflect. It does not ask itself after it roars, “Gee, do you think I overacted there just a bit ? I wonder what the other lions will think…”

And what we refer to as inanimate objects (although this label is inaccurate, since everything, in fact, is moving) do not seem to possess a conscious awareness of themselves. Rocks don’t ponder their past. Trees are living things, but they don’t wonder what the future holds.

The second of the Great Principles of Life works in perfect harmony with the first principle, the Energy of Attraction. This second principle states that no sooner will you attract something into your reality than its exact opposite will also appear.

What is this now? What am I saying?

I am saying that the moment you choose anything—any outcome, object, or experience—its exact opposite will appear in some way.

It may show itself in some far distant quarter, or it may pop up right in front of your eyes, but it will be there, absolutely.

It is necessary for the “opposite” of whatever you are choosing to create with the Energy of Attraction to show up, for the reason that life cannot be experienced in a vacuum.

A context must be produced in which you may experience what you have chosen.

Because not many people know this, they can easily turn negative in their thinking just when the universe was preparing to place before them all that their hearts desired.

They do not see the appearance of the opposite as a sure and certain sign that they are on the right path, heading toward their chosen objective. Rather, they see it as an obstacle, a blockage.

They experience themselves to be up against the wall, when really they are standing in front of a doorway. Only discernment would allow them to know the difference. This is where the Gift of Wisdom comes in.

The Law of Opposites is based on the most important understanding in of all life:

“In the absence of that which you are not, that which you are is not.”

Fifteen words that will change your life
I know, I know, that’s not a very clear sentence. Yet those are 15 words that can wonderfully alter your entire day-to-day experience on this planet.

Let me clarify.

Let’s say, for the purposes of illustration, that you wish to experience yourself as “the light.” (Many people, by the way, have actually chosen this. They wish to be The Light—and thus to bring The Light—wherever they are, wherever they appear.)

Now let us imagine for the purposes of this illustration that there is nothing else around you but The Light—indeed, that there is nothing else in existence but The Light. This would make it impossible to experience yourself as The Light. You may “know” yourself as that, but you cannot “experience” yourself as that.

(There is a difference between knowing and experiencing, and it is experiencing what it knows itself to be for which the soul yearns.)

There is only one way to experience yourself as The Light, and that would be to find yourself in darkness. Yet remember, in this example there is no “darkness.” In this illustration, there is nothing but The Light. You, therefore, must create the darkness. You must call it forth. And you will.

This is the Law of Opposites, which gives you opportunity. Yet if you see the opposite not as opportunity but as opposition, you will see it not as something that empowers you, but as something that takes power away from you.

You will fall into negative thinking, not understanding that you, yourself, have used the Energy of Attraction to draw to you the darkness as well as the light (what you would call “negative,” as well as what you would call “positive,” outcomes) in order to fully experience the positive outcomes that you are creating.

There is power in opposites, and this is the intricate way in which attraction works with all the great principles of life. Those principles work in concert with each other; they function as a perfect mechanism—the Mechanism of Manifestation—like gears in a finely tuned watch.

What are we to do, then, when the Law of Opposites seems to be thwarting, rather than supporting, Personal Creation?

Understand exactly what is going on.

Endeavor to see the appearance of the “opposite” as your first indication that Personal Creation is working flawlessly. Remember that the first step in creating anything is creating a context within which it may be experienced. Do not resist the opposite of anything that you wish to experience. Instead, embrace it. Look right at it and see it for what it is.

What you resist, persists. That is because, by your continued attention to it in a negative way, you continue to place it there. You cannot resist something that is not there. When you resist something, you place it there. By focusing angry or frustrated energy on it, you actually give it more life.

This is why all great masters have urged us to “resist not evil.” Do not fight that which is opposite to your stated desire or your preferred outcome. Rather, relax into it.

I know that may sound strange, but I promise you, it works. Do not become rigid and tense, ready for a battle. Never oppose that which opposes you. Do not OPpose, COMpose.

Do you understand? Remember this little rule always: Do not oppose, compose.

Compose your original idea of how you want life to show up. And compose yourself while you’re at it. Come from a place of relaxed assurance that life is functioning perfectly. Yet do not confuse relaxation with acceptance.

“Resist not evil” does not mean that you should not try to change what it is that you do not choose. Changing something is not resisting something, it is merely choosing again. Change is not resistance, but alteration. To modify is not to resist, but rather, to continue Personal Creation.

Modification is creation. Resistance is the end of creation. It firmly holds the previous creation in place.

Do you see?

At every moment of difficulty and challenge in your life you have a choice: opposition or composition. To repeat: You can either oppose that which you are experiencing, or compose that which you chose.

Compose what you chose.

Now, thanks to the Law of Opposites, you have a context within which to experience it. And that is the greatest thing the universe could ever give you.

All polarity is complementary, not a set of “opposites”. The day is not at war with the night…only in humanity’s fearful imagination is there a war between heaven and earth, between spirit and matter, between life and death.

Make the two one…they already are one, all we need is to acknowledge it.

    • NealeDonaldWalsch

I agree. CWG makes the same point in the dialogue, saying that life is not a straight line, with a beginning and an end, and not in strictest terms even polarity. This, it says, is an illusion, then declaring that all is a circle. It uses the example of Hot and Cold not being opposites, really, by simply degrees of One Thing, called Temperature.

I am imagining that the languaging used in CWG was chosen to capture the immediate understanding of the largest number of people in the short possible time. The Law of The Complementary would not, I suspect, have gotten the attention that the Law of Opposites has gotten. But your nuanced view and explanation is marvelously articulated — once again — and feels perfect for the metaphysically studied and the spiritually astute. Thank you!

Circle is True Story, but um wait a minute. Gayon here want s to say something. The circle could be broken when it tries to careen in on core of core of that apple/orange thing a majig, right? If a Circle is broken and careens in on the core of the core of the apple, it loses its . wait a minute. It could be a t mobius figure, i guess. That one keeps going around and around, karmamajig style. I’m not much on karma. Don’t like meeting and greeting any ol’ seeming one. I only like meeting First Lifers. There are a few here. They go way back. It goes and goes and never leavles itself as its own arcing concentric Tree of All Life Oh well, I don’t know but I always heard Source God say to me that He is many lines of light as Beloveds, and each has a HOuse, just like the bible. Whew didn’t know it was so literal. I might have to read it lol I never really did read it. Heck when I was eighteen I drank a little too much um champagne, not kidding. It was new year’s eve and it was late seventies or eightes and uh I felt so guilty that i had a hangover and began reading that bible, once and for all, I thought. I thought I needed it. Conscious is real. I have one and drking too much is what happened new year’s eve so I began oh my god. gues with what book as my first book to read of holy bible? Not my favorite, which was Song of Solomon, but with Revelations. Dear God. I threw that thing away. Didn’t pick it up ever after that. I jsut pick and choose holy truth, but dang motes are literal. At any rate, God told me that He is only One Way, Christ Way, Beloved Style as All Life Trees and there is One Tree where none tread. .in bible, too, and this tree is how all trees live this way in order to fully reap that harvest of True Beloved. This light has many concentric circles, not circle, not one mishymashy circle. Circles and circles. Bubbles and bubbles but they’re concentric alright. Here’s a visual. I meditated and saw it all happen. Wowza God swarmed me outta there, thank God. I saw concentric circles moving and grooving in a different way, so i did meditate and did see it, but I said, “Turn on the light, God. Damn that was scary, so we don’t do nonconcentric circle at all. Bubble goes broken when it goes a careenijng on another core circle, arc covenant style so Concentric Circles are what my well here he is to speak again. Sorry for uh trolling or responding, but hey, ya know. it is real. I can talk to God like everybody. Dear Neale, I don’t think you’re crazy. I don’t think you’re crazy at all for talking to God. We all do commune whether we know it or not, right here, right now. whew. The crazies are the ones that think those who commune in a nlife that never ends at home can’t be sane. Why troll this blog if you don’t believe in a life neverending? Thatl’s my question and I’m sticking to it. Whew you wrote about sticky. What do you mean by sticky, anyhoo? I forget what that was about. sticky is one thing. Blissy is not sticky. It is oh so misty Whew Wee Hi Ho He Away I go, merrily and Happily along. Few and far between careen in on that core tree. It’s in the bible. The tree of life? The tree of knowleddge? which is it? Heck I didn’t read it. No time like the present though whew see ya :) x’s and o’s

Hey Wowza It is true what you wrote here to Mewabe.

        Hi Neale :)

It got me, too, man. Wowza So much of life to live. whew maybe Hitler did go to heaven if Hitler gets off of careening in on life, I guess, but Hitler as a physical flesh housing in every whoa little body on earth? who would have thought that life as God on Earth, arc style, would have um oh so many to clear oh so many in a physical body on earth as dconstruction. Damn. What a day. What a day. I really don’t know what those words mean anymore. Deconstruction is real, dear. Gaion here. Here it is 2015 and let’s check that date, okay? It is oh so predictable on 12/15/2015. . one two to one five at two and one five. .. oh oh so predictable that oh so many say hi de ho every ho ho ho in every mary oh oh oh as a merry ol’ soul writes here this line: “As physical flesh to flesh. .well, what about the flesh of the bodies on earth physical needing clearing? whew Wowza It’s a day, alright, of Life Again. Hi five. Now I am a hi five girl. That’s me in all life. I don’t why but my source calls me five. He just does. He is a two. I really don’t have time to chat with him, much as I like. Maybe I’ll just ask him what he means by calling me a five and him a two. Here we go.

“honey, you’re a five. You just are. Some desire to be a five, but can’t. You are a heart in me like no other. Every Beloved has a special heart just like it, but it is their own Beloved. Two by Two we go. It’s in the bible. It’s literal, honey. I told you I am here right where I’ve always been waiting. Now, listen. I see you. I see you wonder why I am here speaking so truthfully on this blog. The reason is upiu came to this blog in 2007 and decided to spill all your milk, all your fruit on the table of life for all, just to help Christ, Chista, and where did it bring you, love? It brought you here now right where I’ve been all along. Did you think I would not answer your call? U hear you. You are me. I am you. We are that. We are. We just are. All True Twins have one Beloved. You are that, my love. You just are. Every True Twin is the same way, and every true twin speaks to God through that True Twin, that one special heart that that true twin is in all life and always was and always will be as the one true twin Beloved brought to life as itself since the dawn of civilization. Mankind is not the only civilization. Some are not evil but some are. Some are civil and some are not civil at all. Soem desires a two and a five, but can’t have it, honey. We speak as one. Let all hear us speak. Do youtube and do your blogs. We do need to chat more. Love to all here. Have fun with your Beloveds, dear. All have their own, so a 2 and a 5 are now off the blogs for awhile. Have fun with you and yours :))) xx oo

      Bonjour,
I really do need to be out of here, but I just found a good name for you when looking something up. God changes peoples names in the Bible all the time, so Im constantly using a name book as a dictionary.
Its a good one…..Tumu…deer thinking about eating wild onions!
Hows that for a great name, and it can double up as a type of rain dance drum too! Perfect.
Have a great Christmas and holiday season Chief Guru Tumu Mewabe Bobsteinski.

I was just passing through the neighborhood…fancy that!
Native Americans have 4 names in life, to fit the 4 stages (infant, child, adult, elder). The names come in dreams.
I am not American but a Native of this planet, as you know. I will take new names anytime, I can use them for my multiple personalities.

I have to leave this place as well…it’s getting to be just another addiction. I have become addicted to speaking in the wilderness. I might disappear for a while…a while being a year or a hundred years.

Speaking of wilderness, I need to do a walkabout. You have heard of it, being close to Australia? I did it when I was 19. Native Americans do that too. And artists, poets, and other dreamers and misfits. I am aiming for a year off or more, to walk about the earth, to wander alone in the wilderness as I did before, following and redeveloping intuition, sharpening the senses, getting reacquainted with the wind, the sun and rain, the trees and mountains, the softness of the ground below my feet, the mystery, beauty and sense of the sacred that I feel all around me in nature, and the freedom to just be, here and now, far from any trace of civilization and neurotic humanity.

It won’t happen for a while, but I need it.

It’s been raining here, thanks to El Nino. So now I have to dance to thank the rain? I will just send a tweet to El Nino, gotta move with the times (no, I don’t tweet).

I hope you keep your Tree of Life strong and healthy, and blossoming…you actually are the tree of life, isn’t it a symbolic representation of the self? I could be wrong (no, never!) it’s just a guess.

Have a beautiful and happy Christmas and new year…I will post some thoughts on the other thread as well, but right now my brain needs a break, and I am going out to find some wild onions to chew on alongside my deer friends.

So spoke Tumustein, son of Bobutski and Boboshlov, and descendant of the sons of the stars and the daughters of the sea.
        See ya!

PS: Iyéčhiŋkiŋyaŋka čha kiŋyáŋ mitȟáwa kiŋ hoká ožúla!
It means my hovercraft is full of eels in Lakota (Sioux). Don’t ask me, I am just the messenger. I channel whatever comes through my coffee table as you know.

        • Kirsten

          Hi,
If you havnt read the Clan of the Cave Bear book series, you will really enjoy them.
In NZ people’ go bush’, but the way our country is, it eats tourists and people who go bush. Really dangerous country, we are kind of a microclosm, we have everything Earth has except deserts. So many people drown, die mountaineering and get lost in the bush, mainly tourists. We all grew up near the sea and can deal with it fine and get out of rips by age 10, we are even taught to absail, kayak in the ocean , do orienteering etc at school but tourists have no idea. And from place to place our roads are carved in cliffs with 100m drops on one side, we could all be pro rally drivers, but dumb tourists turn up, hire a motorhome, and kill themselves and us!!
Yup there is a Tree model which is automated, but everyone is their own Tree, its physical twin is your skeleton, and when in bloom is your meridian lines transferred to your blood and bone marrow. This is why ones own blood is sacred in older cultures and teachings, including Scripture and why many religions will not have bone marrow or blood transfusions but its too hard to explain to the public. I wouldnt, Id rather die, unless it was a live transfer directly from one of my parents or kids. When your Tree is in full bloom, you grow flowers out your ears, nostrils and any other holey body parts. So I hear, or maybe misheard.
Im glad your hovercroft is full of eels, thats always gotta be a bonus, and in Lakota is flows so nicely off the tongue. And I love your full name. Wrap the coffee table in foil before it says its God!!
          Im just daughter of commoners!
Break in customers to serve, so salmon sushi and coffee await! Caught the salmon myself, of course.
          Xx

Hi I am posting my post that I posted on the older thread. Why? The new post came along just as I posted. Marko does that a lot. Where is he anyhoo? I haven’t seen his name in a long time. What a guy. At any rate, here it is just for you on this blogosphere.

    Neale,

We have some bloggers here who seem to believe, though they say they don’t “hold any beliefs,” that you are um lonney lonney toony for claiming to have had a conversation with God. I think that’s loony myself. Whew I don’t know why they would deem to think it sane to follow insanity, do you? Maybe you could ask Source, God, why such crazy followers follow who they deem “insane”. so much, so uim regularly. I think God never stops talking to man, don’t you? Here is what my Source says: “Hi Neale, It’s me, God. Remember all those conversations we had. Wow We’ve come a long way, haven’t we? Wow a Long Way. It sure has been a long way indeed. Sure is nice to speak here like this. Remnember how we said “we would speak as one when we became who we really are.” Well, we are here, though some don’t seem to get that idea. Whew When will we learn that God is All Life? All Life is spinning like a poistively spinning um what? elecltron? Well, I am a light, like a photon. . I um know how to move in and out and jump time. I said in the bible I know I am one with the light. People didn’t take that so literal, and, yet it is, just like motes are literal for Goddess here. We jsut pop em out, and then it’s over whew. I am a photon. I am jump time, like I told you in all those conversations. Photon is um jumping ya know like um like a poltergeist e. Well, why? It’s quantum. Quantum energy jumps, and all of those who jump out jump up along that ya know apple orange stuff we talked about so long ago. I know how to send line after line up and down and in and out and all that poltergeist e um like as in love and peace throughout All Life, but not in e. No. that’s not HEB. .that’s um alienated species, Neale. Tell these bloggers what you said about HEB’s and um aliens. These ones don’t know LIfe is much more than their little teeny tiny timber bodies. .wow wee Can we enlighten them, please? Thank you Whew

    Hi Neale,
I read your reply to Mewabe, so know you understand, but yet again, there is no such Law as the Law of Opposites. For anything to be defined as Law it must be compatible with every other Law. This is a classic case of false teachers of Law, as prophecised about thousands years ago in scripture. Or more people trying to group a dozen or so Laws under one, when they have not studied Law properly. People who speak of this non Law are clearly people not suitable to teach Law for they are just teaching mis information published by others! Tut tut!! The word opposite is nothing more than a manmade word, nothing associated with Law at all. Just a random word.
    Take care,
    K

    • gaion

Hi :) tut tut Is that a word random. .random? from . .where is it you’re from. . australia or where? I don’t know. Do you mean King Tut or what :) toot toot tudalu is one. Is that the same thing? Just wonderin :)

      • Kirsten

        Hi again,
Its an old expression that old people use, dictionary defines it as an exclamation of mild disapproval or reprimand. In normal English, words like that are just to define a visual image with a sound. Visually it is looking at a person with a half smile, skaking your head for a no and gently wagging your finger at them with a gentle tongue click. Has the same origins as a lot of the language you use.
I am from New Zealand, next to Australia.

tut tut and all that goos stuff :) Yayuh hello, it’s me. Did you hear that song. It’s a song to sing in all life. Hold on. i forget the name it. Hello it’s me. I’m thinking about you for a long, long time. Wait a minute. Kirsten, we do have kaballism going on. I’m cooking, too, for consumption, of course, dear :) I long to bake. I used to bake bread but a mo? no. He couldn’t eat that. God violent with it, amn. I’m not kidding. It was early morning, too. Took me all day. whew I admire any baker here. That’s a job, man, but oh so good. You gotta knead it. You gotta pound it. You got ta be it, so how are the baked goods doing? Myne? Man, they popout. Just look at them. You’re a goddess. Just look at it. Literal I mean. Energy, ya know, houses as popout as needed. We sometimes need and kneading is hte best. No store bought. Not today. I have high functioning autism, from a drowning in lead filled water when I was a toddler, dead for over 5 minutes. But mines an upgrade, not the unfortunate type of autism. Most female scientists and doctors have high functioning autism.

Very done. Very Done. Very Done. Wowza Woo Woo Wow Wee We are living in a New Day. How about that game time, guys? Did you speak, feel, hear oh so many, dear? Never ever whew did my Guy dare to tell me so much. He didn’t want to risk it, so up that and anny up and this oh my God, Why? Why do you utter that line?

It is here to begin to speak regular, dear. Let it be a book for all to hear. Let it be. Let it be. Yayuh is Greek. It’s Hebrew. It’s every love language, actually. Just look up the derivation. It’s spelled differently in the different parts of the world, but oh so many do want to hear the derivation. Let me just speak it, honey. Here it is. hi there. It’s Guy here. Take that, and do get that book up and going. It’s a real deal, and oh so many do long for the New Day to be explained by True Feminine and True Masculine Divine Principle in already here. We both speak, be, live love for God, so be it no more. Let it be me who gives you a true heart of gold line. Let it be. Let it be. Here you go, Gaion Style, of course. Paul McCartney style for All Life only. Yayuh Wowza is over. It is Greek here. We do know how to run a Grand Scheme, dear. We had to not gift her so many lines. She never shut up. She just wouldn’t. Damn. I told her to shut up. She about gave the game plan to the literal walls meeting her literal baby crib. Wowza So many long to know if God truly says “D words” and stuff. She’s heard ’em all, believe me. She has heard ’em all, and oh so ready Helen Reddy style we are so oh so ready to lift off now. Let it be a gift of Love Sweet Love to Life, Love, and Peace, Gaion Style, of course. We gift you this: a tree, a tree, a tree for life Hi There you go. have it forevermore to evermore and then some to all Guys, in your own arcs, of course, who came forth and helped me. Soon, do stop that, though. It creates a mirror on literal bathroom stalls and stuff. Imprints look a little too hearty today, and we thank you for your help. Believe me, we do thank you mightily oh so mightily today. My baby helped me lift that tree. Whew What a trooper he has been. Let me say Thank you, God, for saving a life today. Dear God. Dear God. Not such a Grand Scheme it turned out to be, did it? Oh my god. Oh my god. Do know All Life is in that same ship. Clear like I did today. Everyone at All Life had lines to clear, even me. We do know Arc, All Life, First Lifers, only, can’t do this gig like we thought. Not doable, is it? Have a Merry Christmas. And, do know we send All Life All Love Only The Best of Love. Amazing Love indeed. Whew as in Baby I’m Amazed at the Way You Loved Me All Along. Christ here through me yayuh yayuh Chista Style. Here he is. Whew

Do go forth and shed those lines, guys. We don’t say gals at all here. no. no. no. We don’t utter gal here. We say Lady, dear. Do know we are HOme, Home, Home in every Arc on EArth. Did we fool ’em or not? Yayuh That’s greek. It is oh so many who want to look that up. We are tired, people. We’ll just speak it and you look it up. It goes like this. A kiss is just a kiss. A smile is just a smile. But, a true ARc always wins, poka style, but Mom here, my Mom, never gave up. Do know blood was shed, literal, I mean. We did lift a big fat Christmas Tree to house uh literal. It’s a second attempt to bring it in. Why? Magnetics. Magnetics. Okay. Here it is. Planck style.

did we get the spelling right, Chista?

No. We didn’t. Oh well, let’s go. Here we go. Planck. Do recall wave motion in motion enters commotion when the highest arc of that sine wave meets cosine. Do you know that it isn’t possible for the little ascending ones to lift a wave like you viewed here HU and here HU and Here HU and oh so many to add to your view here Whew G==HU So, it had to be done by GodFaddah and GodMuddah only. Do recall we don’t exist as Mirror Life ever again, based on what you view here Wowza and oh so many long to say oh my God. Oh my God. After your viewing for forty days and forty nights, there will be no Mirror Life ever at this level. It is not doable at Arc Level. Period. Period. Period. Those on board, clear that line immediately. Shjip up or shape out, and do know the Grand Scheme cost us plenty. It wasn’t truly a washout. It is only a mirror we do not linger in ever ever ever. Speed it up and move it out like we did this afternoon on the ride home from yayuh target the lightfinger like she did and wiggle fingers like she did, especially by schools and parks. Playgrounds are oh so targeted by dimness visible. Why? All that light force, ya know. The dim energy is demonic, poltergeist e, and desires life force. It’s vampiric. Literal vipers is what I told people in the bible. Cnn has a special on me and how I helped Mary Magdalene, chased in this cycle, literal, I mean, and God has to clear his Goddess, like I do myne. This is Guy here now. I do this one, who knew not a damn thing until last year when fearbased energy entered her town. Worse winter ever in history. Forced winds are real. Satan is real. It is oh so visible here. Yayuh here Yayuh Here Yayuh and I’ll fill you in, guys. This one cna’t bear it, not for a second. Couldn’t be alive had she known. That’s apparent now, don’t you think? Next up, do know you have a tree so grand but only if Whew

Now, for those magnetics. Chista, come back in, dear Heart of Love Sweet Love :) :) :) He is here but he can’t bear this either. He wants to kick butte, guys, and he had to clear his Mary, ya know, so it wasn’t like I could lealve, ya know. I had to clear my son, too. He is here okay, though. Do recall we are Arc at Arc Level never in this way again. All Arcs in on this gig must heed this creed now in forevermore. . Clear your fields yourself and get rid of any dimness visible. Use this lightbody called your own Twin. We quit. We don’t linger. Our fields are cleared. All loved ones coming to my neck, please stop that. It only brings more of it to clear. It is what is because of magnetics. We didn’t intend to clear so many, and, yet, we did do it. Let it be over rover. That’s Goddess here. Dimness took her code and called it, but we called their code so Random is our word. Darknes Visible is our Word. whew So, all here had lines similiar. It is true that First Lifers are Chosen God Head and were targeted at crib level.

Too many here to mention here, honey. She wants to know how many first lifers on this blog. we couldn’t give the game plan away. We did win, guys, ladies. It’s time to call it in, dear. Whew What a day. What a day. That’s her line. Nevermore is a word used often, too, but who knew. Who knew. I don’t know a thing. It’s back to Tree of Life, Gaion Style, New Birthday. Whew Open. Open. Open all in all in all in are Home in God in a Life that Never Ends. 4:15 we call it 3:25. That’s who you are as your GodHead in your True Tree, Beloved Style, Concentric Circle Style. Have it for eternity. Hi

Love to all who helped save a life, literal, I mean. Thank you. That’s all I have to say. I’m gone, baby, gone. Whew Fill ’em in, Guy. I am done. Love to you, Dear Ones and New Books are coming, Neale. Let it be a gift from us both to All Life as a New Day from the Feminine Side and the MAsculine united. Whew Gift it to your life and all love is in on that gig. Pu clears many oh so many. Use pinkie and say “pu” easy-peezie is one, too. It is easy-peezie to say Phew. That one works. Also blow pou pou pou and that oughtta do it to clear fields again and again. Chu is Dear Sacred Heart here named Chista who simply makes a pow with this finger, literal, lightbeam on it already in as total empath. . can’t eat blueberry today. do watch um pink. .hot pink. today, but pale pink targeted by dimness visible cuz Lady here likes it so. Literal blue cobalt popout on Misty Blue Cigarette, her favorite. Whew literal threads only. Not easy to view, but literally seen by Lady here. Live that and do realize we are home already.

    Love to all Whew

Regarding mental health comment, I included it just to reinforce the global conversation thing. Remember that I wrote: sounds crazy doesn’t it?, then I mentioned the fact that it is through the use of conversation that mental health specialists work through client’s or patient’s problems. Conversation is an effective “tool” in many scenarios. So basically I am reinforcing the use of conversation as a means of accomplishing a change in humanity’s cultural story that could lead to a change in our present way of life.
I agree with the idea that quantum mechanics proves we are all one because the research is discovering that we are all made of the same stuff (i.e. superstring theory).
And this thought of yours that Neale should have left God out of his claims: I’m going to have to disagree with you on that. Whether you believe or not that he has had actual conversations with God doesn’t matter, Neale believes it. And he is simply aligning with his belief and sharing it with us. We make a choice to believe it or not. You made it, then changed it. I still hold on to my belief that he has. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging you on your decision; you have your reasons and I respect that. Each one will make theirs. Let’s honor their choices too. Again as I have mentioned in other posts: I will only stand up against and will not accept your approach on any matter if it is motivated or grounded in violence or the use of force to impose anything on me or others. In that case, on my part: zero tolerance.

    • Patrick Gannon

“I agree with the idea that quantum mechanics proves we are all one because the research is discovering that we are all made of the same stuff (i.e. superstring theory).” (Francisco)

Try to find a theoretical physicist who will agree with you that quantum mechanics proves we are all ONE. That’s not really necessary in any event. We’re all made of the same stuff anyway – stardust, and you can drill down as far as you want. The ONEness you are talking about is not that we are made of the same material, but rather we are ONE through consciousness or the soul, right? Like I said, find me a theoretical physicist who says quantum mechanics proves that we all share a common consciousness. They may prove that one day, but so far there’s no connection I’m aware of.

Whether Neale actually had a conversation with God does matter, at least in part, because truth matters. The problem with saying “God” told him all this stuff was that he staked out a position that meant facing criticism from all quarters. Anyone who says they talk to God should be handled with care. Not all of them are as benign as Neale is.

You seem to be telling me that it’s OK for Neale to share his beliefs, but not for me to question them. I respect the right of Neale or anyone else to hold whatever belief they want as long as long as it does no harm (which it could be doing). However every belief is subject to question. Are you upset because in questioning Neale, I’m questioning your beliefs and that makes you uncomfortable? Why is that? Why does having our beliefs questioned make us uncomfortable and feel like it is us, and not our belief that is being challenged? Is it perhaps like getting attached to a lie, because we don’t want to face the truth?

Thank you for allowing me to change my mind. I’m glad you don’t judge me for it, even if you did in a prior post – by saying I was rigid and incapable of changing my mind. (grin)

“I will only stand up against and will not accept your approach on any matter if it is motivated or grounded in violence or the use of force to impose anything on me or others” (Francisco)

Now what motivates you to say that – and apparently more than once. Do you feel threatened here? Has anyone here ever advocated using force to impose anything on anyone? Why are you looking for a problem that doesn’t exist?

I left a Muslim forum once because I was threatened with death, but I’ve never seen anything remotely like that here. Chill out dude!

      • Francisco Morfi

“Try to find a theoretical physicist who will agree with you…..””The ONEness you are talking about is not that we are made of the same material, but rather we are ONE through conciousness or the soul, right?”
So Patrick, apparently you think conciousness is other than the material stuff we are all made up of because you separate it. And what is conciousness then made up of? Is there some other stuff out there that you “believe” in that I’m unaware of that makes up conciousness. Sounds kind of contradictory to me based on the position you’ve been defending. Are you confused? Or maybe there is some missing link you’re aware of and haven’t shared? I thought you defended the notion that everything stems from the brain. Where does conciousness stem from then if you are separating it from the “same stuff” we’re referring to? I lost you here Patrick. Please clarify.
Is it a mind thing? Be careful here Patrick that you don’t make the mind separate from the rest, because that can’t be proven; or can it? Search wikipedia on the concepts of conciousness and the mind if you’d like, just as one source of info.
“You seem to be teelling me it’s OK for Neale to share his beliefs, but me for not to question them…” “I respect the right of Neale……as long as it does no harm (which it could be doing). Well now Pat I guess you feel you have a mission to protect others, something I have been doing that seems to bother you. How does that work?
I wrote: “I will only stand up against and will not accept your approach in any matter if it is motivated or grounded in violence or the use of force to impose anything on me or others” I may have been misunsterstood by you when I say “accept your approach” as referring specifically to you when in fact I am referring to anybody in general. I can see how the way I worded it could have been misleading; my bad, but now clarified.
About having my beliefs questioned making me uncomfortable, far from it. I am firm in my beliefs and have had them questioned many times. I feel quite at ease with my beliefs, but do keep an open mind to challenges. Some beliefs I hold are simply irrefutable to me only because I choose. For example, I believe in God; no changing my mind on that. On this particular belief I’m cognitively rigid because my conviction is firmly grounded in my personal experience and there’s no budging that or convincing me otherwise.

        • Patrick Gannon

Apparently you misunderstood me, Francisco. When I said, “The ONEness you are talking about is not that we are made of the same material, but rather we are ONE through consciousness or the soul, right?”, I was asking you what YOU thought consciousness was. I was assuming that you held a dualist view – that material and soul/consciousness were separate. I was not implying that I think they are separate.

You implied that quantum mechanics proves we are all ONE. How about if you tell me what YOU mean by that? I agree that we are all ONE at the material level – the same stardust. I asked if you thought it meant quantum mechanics proves we are all ONE by virtue of consciousness, but apparently you misunderstood me. I’ll try to restate the question: If you are implying that quantum mechanics means we all share a consciousness or soul, then please provide a theoretical physicist who agrees with that idea.

I don’t claim to know how consciousness works, though I see more evidence for one viewpoint versus another in the scientific evidence. I think the preponderance of evidence points to consciousness being the product of the brain. I haven’t changed or contradicted any viewpoints. It’s unnecessary to tell me to search Wikipedia for information on consciousness. I’ve been reading about the subject for a few years now.

“Well now Pat I guess you feel you have a mission to protect others, something I have been doing that seems to bother you. How does that work? ” (Francisco)

I don’t understand your point. I’m free to express my opinions as you are to express yours. It only bothers me when you or others unjustly disparage my character. I would love to hear objections to my ideas, but you have primarily challenged me personally, I guess for daring to challenge beliefs you hold near and dear. Why else would you give a flying fart what I have to say? Why do I make you so uncomfortable that you have to go after me in order to feel better about yourself (sounds like something from one of NDW’s books, doesn’t it?).

I still don’t get why you made the comment about violence and force. Why would you even say that in this forum? What are you afraid of?

I must say I get a chuckle out of you describing yourself as “cognitively rigid” when that is exactly what you accused me of; a notion that I hope I disabused. Being cognitively rigid is not something I would brag about, but it is a trait of every fundamentalist I know.

Little of this discussion has anything to do with issues. It has to do with personalities, which is not what I prefer to spend my time on. I want to know your opinion regarding whether you think it is healthy to lie to yourself. You know, just as I do that there is no objective, empirical data for gods or afterlives. If there was, then you wouldn’t have to “choose” to believe in these things. Since you have chosen to tell your brain that you believe something the brain knows you really don’t know – what do you think the impact, if any, is on your personality? Doesn’t this set up a conflict in your brain? Is it possible that it makes you fearful, given your concern that people are going to use violence to impose their beliefs on you? Is it possible that you’ve become so invested in this belief of God, that you fear people will force you to believe something else, such that you might have to face the distinct possibility (probability?) that when you die, the lights go out forever? Are you afraid to face your beliefs because it’s possible you might be wrong and that’s just too hard to accept?

  • Francisco Morfi

My most reason post is in reponse to Patrick. I’m sure once he reads it he’ll know. Patrick I had to copy and paste because disquis wasn’t accepting my reply to you where I had written it originally.

Mental Health. What can we say about mental health? Why are we talking about mental health on a God blog? Can’t we change topics here? Let’s talk God. When one is holding a lightbody, one doesn’t need much by way of miracle healing. That’s my view, and I’m sticking to it. Whew I’m taking over the posters here, and I’m sorry, but we are on a God blog. We just are. Let it be a tree that stops calling those who commune in a Life that Never Ends with God in Love and Peace and Wonder and Hope and Joy and all that good stuff crazy. Look that is the oldest trick in the book by the soothsayers. We don’t buy it. Dear God, I am sure that Neale has had to place a lot of None None None whatsoever value on such a silken soothsayer tricking mind as that. Sorry. I don’t buy it. Zero Tolerance for such ruckrat as that. Back to the future of Life as Only Love Sweet Love <3 <3<3

“Is it possible that what we are seeing on the Earth now is the rising up of elements within a Contextual Field that is presaging the coming of the Greatest Age of Man” (NDW)

What the heck does that mean? The only use I can find for the term “contextual field’ has to do with a particular programming language and a definition offered by Neale himself. This appears to be a made-up term. It sounds awesome, but what does it mean?

Neale says in a Communion with God: “The Universe itself is a contextual field. That is both its definition and its purpose It provides life with a way to be expressed and experienced physically. You are a localized version of that same contextual field, as is everyone and everything else around you. In other words, localized God. Outside of this localized context, you can only know yourself as All That Is. And All That Is cannot experience Itself as what it is, since there is nothing else.

We don’t know if the universe has a purpose, and if it does, whether Neale or anyone else knows what it is, but moving on, he says we may have elements arriving in this field (what elements) that presage the coming of the Greatest Age of Man. Odd that he would use the word presaging, since this is a term that means a warning that something (usually bad) is about to happen. He’s warning us that there are undefined elements rising in an undefined field that has some sort of undefined context, and we call this undefined thing the universe. However, the universe has a real definition, which is the cosmos, consisting of all physical matter and space – but Neale insists it refers to God, which is not matter or space. Confusing, or a misrepresentation of what the word “universe” really means.

Whatever he is trying to say, I certainly don’t get it. In any event, I would say every step along the evolutionary ladder is the then current “Greatest Age of Man.” (why capitalize these words?)

“Could it be that all that we have seen on our planet in the past 50 years is the out-picturing of a larger evolutionary patterning that evidences itself everywhere that Life Itself manifests?” (NDW)

“Out-picturing”? Can’t find that word in the dictionary, but I see a number of New Age sites referring to this apparently made-up word. What is “evolutionary patterning”? The only place I find this term is a specific reference to creating drugs to combat parasitic diseases, and as best I can tell, they think they invented the term. What is life: “the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.” How does this “condition” manifest (display or show) this evolutionary patterning he speaks of but does not define?

Alphabet soup. Why can’t he say what he means in simple English? When people write with a bunch of made-up or redefined words, I think we should exercise caution so we don’t have a blanket pulled over our head with fancy pants words that may not mean anything.

    • Patrick Gannon

“It is in the Mind of humans where evolution occurs. The Soul is already evolved. It is the part of us that is the source of evolution, not the part of us that yearns to be evolved.” (NDW)

Well actually our physical bodies have been evolving for a long time, and our brains which host our minds have also been evolving. This soul of which he speaks has no evidence for it. How exactly does this soul cause our mind to evolve? The mind is a product of the brain. No brain = no mind, no consciousness. If you want to evolve the mind, you need to evolve the brain. How does an invisible, non-material thingie called a soul cause physical changes to a brain? I’m not saying it can’t happen, if indeed this soul exists; but how would this happen? How does non-material soul, like my non-material thoughts, change the physical matter of the brain? If this is what is proposed, what is the mechanism by which this happens? If he really thinks this can happen, then he should organize a large-scale experiment to prove that the soul (he really means consciousness, I’m guessing), can affect physical matter, by making a clock run backwards, for example.

A scientist would word this in the form of a hypothesis or theory, providing whatever evidence he had to support it. The last thing he or she would do is speak authoritatively about things which there is no evidence for. Neale does this all the time, because he had God whispering in his ear. If only God had whispered into his ear how to create fusion or energy free desalination, or a cure for cancer, or something else that would actually help us solve problems like climate change. Neale’s god is no more helpful than Bible God in this regards.

Why are “Mind” and “Soul” capitalized? What significance should be attached to capitalized words? We capitalize proper nouns – such as the Brooklyn Bridge. Neale has his own rules for grammar. I assume it is designed to set him apart and make his writing look more official somehow.

“I could be wrong about all of this. But it feels to me that the Conversations with God material, from which this all emerges, is at least worth more deeply exploring.”

“I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT ALL OF THIS.” Let’s spend a little time on that. Stating this confirms that Neale does not know. He speaks authoritatively with God on his shoulder, as God’s “messenger” but HE DOES NOT KNOW. None of us do. I know a lot of people don’t like my criticism of Neale, but this is my point. We DO NOT KNOW, and we know that. I think every brain on earth knows that it has no evidence for gods or afterlives. Is it healthy for our brains, minds, consciousness, whatever term you want to use, to essentially lie to ourselves and believe something based on the supposed authority of another of god’s many messengers, whose legacies entrap us all to this day.

Sure we can explore this stuff – but for crying out loud, I think Neale should stop talking about it as though he knows that it’s true. Despite Neale’s supposed conversation with God, he still doesn’t really know any more than the rest of us, but he makes money trying to convince us that he does know more than we do.

“The process that generates Functionality, Adaptability, and Sustainablity (sic) is governed by laws of the universe, many of which are easily observable and therefore universally known—such as the Law of Gravity, for instance, or the Laws of Relativity.”

What’s up with all the capitalized words?

Gravity and Relativity are theories, not laws. They can still be proven wrong, though this is unlikely to happen – just like evolution can still be proven wrong, but this is unlikely to happen. I’m pretty sure that it is more accurate to say that it is evolution that generates functionality, adaptability, and sustainability as governed by natural selection.

Now on to the so-called “Law of Opposites.” This most assuredly is not a “law” in the proper sense of the term. A law is “a statement of fact, deduced from observation, to the effect that a particular natural or scientific phenomenon always occurs if certain conditions are present.” The level of proof for a law is extremely high, yet the “law of opposites” cannot be reliably demonstrated on a consistent basis. There is no “law of opposites” in the scientific or literary field because this is Neale’s invention. It’s all rather convoluted and difficult to follow, but I think that’s on purpose.

There is something rather practical that may be related to whatever it is that Neale is trying to sell. There’s a saying that goes – ‘when synapses fire, the brain is wired.’ This is a good explanation for things like the so-called ‘law of attraction,’ or ‘that which you resist, persists.’ If you think about something over and over and over again, you raise it in your level of consciousness, and therefore may be more likely to recognize opportunities or act in ways that help you obtain that which you’ve told your brain to focus on; or alternatively if you listen to Fox News all the time, you resist compassion and truth, and your brain gets wired that way. There may be actual physical explanations pertaining to the brain that lend some credence to these ideas, but they are all in the physical realm, not the hypothetical and evidence-free, realm of souls.

Neale says that whenever we choose anything, it’s exact opposite shows up in some way. Sorry, but this is not my experience. When I choose to eat an orange, I just eat the orange. No obstacles present themselves. When I choose to lose weight, I either eat less and exercise more and then what I choose shows up for me as I chose it, or if I did not wire my brain to be sensitive to the fact that I’m getting fat, then I can choose to my heart’s content to be thin, and it won’t do any good. This stuff all sounded so elegant and ethereal when I first read this years ago, but now when I look at it more closely, it reads like gobbledygook.

The “law of opposites” was originally formulated by Marx and referred to laws of motion and has been shown to be fallacious, at least as espoused by Marx.

Patrick, what do you think of this simple thought: It has always been my belief (yes, I guess it would be a belief, or perhaps just a thought or a feeling?) that we do not need any beliefs whatsoever to be and act human.

What do I mean by human? I do not just mean the evolving basic human animal responding to its environment…I mean having or developing deeper feelings, sensitivity, compassion, empathy. These are said to be “feminine” qualities, but they are potentials we all, male and female, young and old, possess.

It is my feeling that many beliefs do get in the way of the expression of such humanity. Neale makes this point as well. It is plain to see…But I do not think that new beliefs are necessary to replace old ones. That’s a rather primitive approach, a clutch for those who are not in touch with or are afraid to express the more gentle aspect of their humanity, because they still live in fear of the unknown and need to control their thoughts within a rather cumbersome system of beliefs.

In other words? It does not take any belief to develop the ability to love more, to do no harm or as little as possible (for example if one chooses to raise animals for food, let’s try to do it with more sensitivity and compassion), to develop enough sensitivity to learn to live in as much balance and harmony with others and with the natural environment as is possible.

This is where I differ with most people, actually. My thoughts are that being human is not a conceptual process or a question of beliefs. All we need is the develop the BEING aspect of our humanity a little more and a little better, according not to belief or concepts but to develop more love and respect for life. Why? If we do not want to destroy ourselves, it seems to be the practical choice, as well as generating more happiness, possibly.

An emotionally and psychologically child understands love, simply, directly. That an adult does not so easily understand love or has to conceptualize love should tell us something about what is wrong with our upbringing.

            And this…

The ouroboros or uroboros (/jʊərɵˈbɒrəs/; /ɔːˈrɒbɔrəs/, from the Greek οὐροβόρος ὄφις tail-devouring snake) is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail.

The ouroboros often symbolizes self-reflexivity or cyclicality,[3] especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things such as the phoenix which operate in cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. While first emerging in Ancient Egypt and India,[4] the ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist’s opus. It is also often associated with Gnosticism, Hermeticism and Hinduism. (Wikipedia)

Mewabe, I am in agreement or sympathetic to everything you said – the question is, how do we go about it? We’ve tried changing beliefs, and it’s never worked for any extended period of time.

You speak of how crazy people act, and surely this is correct. But why is this? It’s understandable that individuals would have “issues” but we’ve got a situation where a whole society has “issues.” Why is that? What do we do about it?

Something Neale wrote long ago is still valid; I just think he didn’t go far enough. He suggested that we needed to stop treating symptoms and treat the core problem instead. For Neale, the core problem was having the wrong beliefs. For a long time, I thought the core problem was religion. I think now that it may not be about having the wrong beliefs, but the problem might be beliefs themselves.

You’ve listed a litany of unpleasant truths that humans need to face and understand; but you’ve left out the single most important truth, the one that is at the “core,” perhaps. I think the most important truth is that we don’t know what happens after we die. We don’t know if there are any gods or afterlives. Neale is doing nothing to help us come to grips with that one unadulterated truth. We simply don’t know. His strategy, it seems to me, is to hide our fears by feeding our brain a feel-good hope, and all we need to do is believe. But that’s what St. Paul said too.

Until we face that truth – our lack of knowledge and potential acceptance of our mortality – how can we be expected to face the other truths, which we can actually do something about? We’re too scared and I think our brains are all messed up, for which you provided ample evidence, because we’ve told them a lie. We’ve told our brains we believe something that the brain knows it has no evidence for. Is it at all possible, in your opinion, that this might be at the core of our problem?

So, yes, I agree that we do not need any beliefs to be human. I suggest that we need to think, and to put things in terms of probabilities based on evidence, observation, experiment, etc., and try to avoid beliefs, particularly when the contradict what you really know that you don’t know.

          • mewabe

Perhaps we then need to study and develop philosophy, rather than old or new religion or spiritual beliefs, as a complement to science. Philosophy would tend to concern itself with the here and now, and deal with the known rather than the unknown. Without a present, how can there be any future?
You might notice than Taoism, for example, does not concern itself with the afterlife. Neither does Zen. I am not sure that knowing what happens after life would resolve our problems, if we still do not know how to live together in the here and now. Supposing that life after death could be scientifically proven, and that it was shown to be very pleasant, perhaps more so than physical life, wouldn’t that reinforce the felling believers already have that physical life does not matter much, and that nothing we do to each other or the the earth has any real consequences?

          • Patrick Gannon

            Two great questions, Mewabe.

            A. You are speaking of the idea of “non-overlapping magisterium” or the idea that science is relegated to explaining how things work and philosophy and religion relegated to why they do; the idea being that there is a difference between facts and values.

This concept has been accepted by both sides for a long time, but it is coming under fire. It is being suggested that this distinction is not valid, that science can indeed assist with these greater questions. Take morality for example. On the one side, philosophy and religion typically argue that morality is an issue science has no place being involved, but perhaps that’s not necessarily true.

First we start by defining morality – what is it? Well, maybe it’s like pornography – I know it when I see it; so maybe it’s better to start by describing it. Morality, if it exists must be for the benefit of the general welfare, would you agree? Otherwise what purpose does it serve? So what if we start with two extremes? On the one hand we define the general welfare as a condition where we eat out of the gutter, get beaten regularly, are infected with parasites, have no education, no hopes, etc. That’s one end of the spectrum of general welfare. On the other hand, we have another general welfare – let’s say middle class Americans with shelter, food, clothing, education, job, etc.. Which would most rational human beings choose? Would it be fair to say that taking actions which move towards one end of the spectrum are more moral than actions which move towards the other? Is it more moral to make children starve to death or feed and educate them? Pretty simple, right? (Note that there could or would be a “landscape” of hills and valleys of general welfare in the moral landscape, not just A vs B.)

If it can be established that there are moral extremes so to speak, then science might be able to help determine which of two possible actions is the more moral, and which moves towards one extreme or the other, or one hill versus another valley on the whole moral landscape. It would, like many other sciences, not be exact, but we know there are better and worse ways to solve a problem, and science can contribute to this with research, surveys, studies, experiments, etc.

To determine the exact number of mosquitoes in the Florida Everglades at any given time is not doable, but who can argue that there are better and worse ways to go about finding out and getting as close as you can in order to provide data that can be acted upon? It would be a different, and perhaps better way to look at morality, I think.

Note as well that philosophy and religion do intrude on science. Once you say that there’s a God who suspends the laws of the universe to allow miracles, you’ve walked into the path of science and made a claim that is subject to being questioned and supported with evidence.

So, no I don’t agree that science should be shut out of the philosophical side of the discussion. I see 3000 years of religion and philosophy and all the accomplishments are what, exactly? I see the last 100 years of science, and well…. enough said.

            B. This is part of the question that I am thinking about when I ask if it’s perhaps bad for us to believe something that we know we don’t know. Is there a benefit in lying to ourselves, because that’s what we’re doing. There is no question that beliefs can help some people to feel better, to somehow get the brain to cure the body (placebo affect), to feel like they are happier, and for many people it would be a real downer to learn that this is all there is, and when the lights go out, it’s for good. That’s going to scare a lot of people. But would knowing that it works this way, make you try harder to make this life a good one, since you don’t get a second chance?

It’s like the question of whether or not you tell someone they have a terminal disease. Is it wrong to hide it from them? Is it better to live in ignorance, just because the news isn’t that great? Aren’t we hiding from ourselves when we believe something we know we don’t know? Is this good for the individual or for society at large?

We’ve been killing each other over beliefs for a very long time. It seems to me that facing the truth that we may be mortal, and admitting that based on current knowledge, it’s probable, may be difficult; but humans seem to need to go through difficulty to grow and evolve.

I think Neale, like other religionists, helps us keep hiding. I suggest that we face the music. See what happens. If Neale is right, it doesn’t matter, you’ll cycle back here and do the merry dance all over again, probably in worse circumstances. However if lying to ourselves is causing us to destroy ourselves and our society, then we’ll never know and we’ll never do anything about it.

You know, It’s even possible that if New Age God is real, that we actually score points for doing the difficult thing and admitting our ignorance instead of lying to ourselves.

The most atheistic countries are the happiest, healthiest and have good standards of living. The ones that are the most religious, meaning the strongest beliefs, are of course the hell’s on earth that plague us. Now that is not to say that atheists don’t hold beliefs, but they don’t hold beliefs about gods and life after death. They have faced up to the fact that they know that they don’t know and decided they can adjust and live with that – and seem to be doing so rather happily for the most part.

You suggestion that learning a glorious afterlife was factual, might cause is to behave even worse than we do now, when today we believe but do not know, is also a great question. It might do that indeed. It might make it worse. But what matters, I think, is truth. And if it is true that it’s all glorious when we die, then so what; let’s blow the place up and get on with it!

All great stuff for discussion. Thanks Mewabe.

          • mewabe

            Good discussion indeed…

I personally do not like the word morality, as fake morality (based on religious or ideological beliefs) has been used as yet another tool of oppression, in Christian nations for example as well as in communist nations.

One person’s morality is another person’s immorality, when based on beliefs and prejudices.

When science fully recognizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of all life forms in the microcosm and the macrocosm, then it might be able to lead us toward a more “moral” (beneficial) way of life.

Science and technology are not there yet, which is why an atheist nation like China has generated a way of life (industrialization on steroids) that is extremely destructive to the environment, because it is still based on the false belief in a separation of humanity from nature.

But then science might not be able to lead us. I am a fierce individualist, and do not think that we should be led by a cadre of experts (scientists, ideologues or religious figures) who would assume to know what is best for the world and humanity. I even prefer chaos to top down order. I think that nature has a way to regulate itself from within and without, and nature is the only thing that should lead us, since we are a part of nature.

To be led by nature, we would have to spend time observing it, including our own nature, without any preconceptions. Krishnamurti called this observing “what is”. He discusses how the mind gets in the way of that. Science does this to a degree, but scientists also have agendas. Whether it is to improve a crop yield or to improve human health, or to facilitate space travel, they do work towards a goal. The observation of nature (including our own nature) should be done without any goal, expectation or preconception whatsoever. Then we might get to know “what is”. That’s true philosophy, the way I see it. That’s also true science…pure research devoid of any aim but pure knowledge. And that is why most practical people think that philosophy is a waste of time. I don’t think so.

Philosophically, I would say that the future (as well as the past) is in the present. I would even say that there is no such thing as the future…only an ongoing present. This present is governed by cycles (summer and winter, night and day, life and death). When you are fully immersed in the present, and to do this you have to somehow detach yourself from the human world that is entirely mentally and emotionally invested in the past and the future and almost completely disregards the present, you then no longer fret about the mental images of the past or the future. You might be able to achieve this through your own meditation practice.

About blowing the place up, we will get there soon enough. But it should be noted that if we do not know how to live together in a mutually beneficial manner, no matter where we are, in the physical or the afterlife, we will keep on repeating the same mental patterns. We cannot run away from ourselves, and “glorious” living conditions cannot be achieved without a profound change of mind. In other words we would not be “saved” by a “glorious” afterlife, anymore than we can be saved by anything at all but ourselves.

            Thanks Patrick…

          • Patrick Gannon

Only a couple notes in response. We’re not that far apart. You called China an atheist country, but that’s not really correct. The Communist Party is atheist, but China recognises five religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Protestantism, and Catholicism (but not Roman Catholicism).

Also I would disagree that science always has a goal. Darwin went to study beetles. As a result of observations, he developed the most important theory in the history of mankind – the theory of evolution. He got a lot of things wrong, but his basic premise proved to be valid and is now accepted as fact. Einstein did not set out to prove relativity or to prove Newton wrong. He made observations and thought experiments that were later confirmed with real experiments – but he was just trying to find truth.

Surely there are scientists, such as Creationist scientists who do have a specific goal that they try to prove by trying to make evidence fit their conclusions, but real science doesn’t work that way. In real science, evidence leads to conclusions, not the other way around.

The proposal that science might help us to determine morals, doesn’t imply that science will lead us, only provide the tools to help others make moral decisions with more accuracy. Thus it would be the courts, our government leaders, teachers, etc. who might benefit from any tools science might develop for us to help understand which of two actions is the most moral, for example.

I fully agree with the value of meditation. Being in the present can be very useful. Mindfulness is a great tool to deal with stress and chaos. We should perhaps all tattoo the word “breathe” on our hand.

“I am making the argument here assuming that the afterlife and consciousness could be proven to exist.” (Mewabe).

That is THE question, isn’t it? The problem is that the evidence does not seem to point in this direction so far. I go back to the original question – what if it were proven that the afterlife and survivable consciousness does NOT exist? What then? Then we get back to your question of whether we would treat this life better or worse, knowing this is all we get.

      Hi,
Since you generally know scripture, did you read the advice on not to waste time on men who express nothing but a love of words?!Sorry I cant give you the reference but Ive seen it a couple of times? I agree with you about this thread, the wording makes absolutely no sense at all, and to me, appears to be nothing but new age mumbo jumbo motivational brainwashing, to override any concept of thinking. Classic new age!!

    • Francisco Morfi

What is your problem with the making up of words and definitions. Where the heck do you think our vocabulary and definitions come from? They’re made up. Or did you think they just popped out of nowhere. Neale offers his definition as you say. Contextual field seems quite simple to understand. I would define it as a space where things happen or take place; in this sense contextual field could be seen as a place in our world, planet where events are ocurring that have an effect on humanity. ” Rising up of elements,””Elements arriving in this field” appear to be the occurrences taking place in our world as can be assumed within the context of his words.
I do find that there are a number of made up words as you say, but I think they need to be interpreted within his context and the events currently taking place in our world that are moving us in a different direction regarding our beliefs. Anyway, that’s what I think.

      • Patrick Gannon

Thank you for sharing what you think.

If everyone makes up whatever words they want to explain or describe whatever they want in their own terms, how can we communicate with each other? For communication to be successful, the parties must agree on certain means of transmitting and receiving information. Unless both are using the same elements, the chance of miscommunication rises. I have spent a career in data communications. Unless the “language” is the same for both sender and receiver, no communication can take place.

Why can’t God give Neale simple words we all know? Why does he have to make up words and capitalize words that are not supposed to be capitalized according to English grammar? It strikes me as pretentious.

  • Francisco Morfi

Patrick I understand where you are coming from with the communication issue and I know how that could create a problem. Neale has offered his definitions and that is something that occurs quite often when books are written and novel material is being presented. It’s common practice, a technique used in writing, when words are capitalized to place emphasis on something you wish to highlight. Surely a person with your background should know that. There are certain exceptions to rules in literature.

  • Francisco Morfi

Patrick you continue to try to refute people’s beliefs based on your evidence based stance. Their is no proof to beliefs within that realm; it’s a faith thing. You believe it ir not. Obviously you don’t move within that world that so many of us do. With this I have to just skip over this whole topic with you. You’re not convincing me otherwise and neither am I convincing you. You defend your position and I mine, whether you think it’s valid or not.
Regarding your comments about me being afraid to have my beliefs challenged, I don’t really care what you think about that. I don’t have many fears and being questioned on my beliefs is definitely the least of my fears. I feel very secure in my convictions and am not easily convinced to abandon them. If a belief I hold were updated or completed with additional info, it’s probable I could add on and build on what I believe. I don’t pretend to know it all or to have all the right answers, but I feel at peace with myself and in my interaction with others on my thoughts and beliefs about life.
It is what it is. It’s all good. I think something happened to you when your beliefs were challenged and you copped out; but that’s what I think. Just saying; I could be wrong, just a thought.
When you started to talk about conciousness in one of your posts you seemed pretty cocky, but when I posted that prior post in my comments you kind of appeared to be back pedaling; but it’s just my perception. I could be wrong.
